Lastly, let’s talk about the Onkyo M-8000. This amplifier is a rare gem that brings together vintage aesthetics and modern performance. In my recent shoot, I showcased the Onkyo M-8000 elegantly sitting atop the modern Sony Atmos receiver STR-DN1080, a perfect juxtaposition of vintage and contemporary audio technology. Accompanying the M-8000 are the System Audio Saxo 50 speakers, known for their impressive soundstage and clarity. Although not widely discussed, the Saxo 50 has garnered praise for its ability to deliver detailed highs and robust lows, making them an excellent match for the Onkyo amplifier.
These speakers excel in stereo music, providing a rich and immersive listening experience. Additionally, they work exceptionally well as left and right speakers in a Dolby surround setup, enhancing the cinematic experience with their expansive soundstage. Audiophiles appreciate how these speakers can fill a room with rich sound, perfectly complementing the M-8000’s powerful output.
